Pickleball in Da Nang: where to play as a visitor

If there's one city in Vietnam built for a pickleball holiday, it's Da Nang. In September 2026 it hosted the Pickleball World Cup, the first ever held in Asia, and you can feel it: there are courts in every district, clubs open from dawn, and a beach at the end of every street. Here's where to play as a visitor, what an hour costs, and how to get a game.

Why Da Nang is Vietnam's pickleball city

Two years ago Da Nang had a handful of courts. Then the city went all in. The PPA Tour Asia held its Vietnam Cup here in 2025, the Furama resort opened a 14-court club the same year, and from 30 August to 6 September 2026 Da Nang hosted the Heineken Pickleball World Cup. More than 5,000 athletes walked out at the opening ceremony, and the event set a Guinness World Record for the most countries at a pickleball tournament.

For a visitor, all of that means one thing: courts, coaching, paddle rental and open play are everywhere, and the standard is high. Pair that with a beach city that's easy to get around, an airport ten minutes from the centre and Hoi An half an hour down the coast, and it's the natural base for a play-and-stay trip.

Where to play in Da Nang

These are the clubs visitors ask about most. New courts open every month in this city, and prices change, so message the club before you go.

Fit Fun Pickleball

On Duy Tan Street in the middle of the city, Fit Fun has seven courts, five of them indoors, which makes it a safe bet in the heat or the rain. Hourly rates run from about 140,000 to 200,000 VND depending on the time, and it runs classes for beginners. There's parking for cars and motorbikes, so it's an easy Grab from anywhere in town.

Pickleball Song Han and the river clubs

Around the Han River you'll find a cluster of busy outdoor clubs under floodlights. Pickleball Song Han, in the photo at the top of this page, is typical: courts full from late afternoon, a bench of players waiting their turn, and plenty of people happy to rotate a visitor in.

Near My Khe Beach

If you're staying on the beach side, which is where most visitors stay, you don't need to cross the river to play. Picklehead My Khe has three indoor courts a short walk from the beach hotels, and the ATP Pickleball Clubhouse in Ngu Hanh Son is Vietnam's first pickleball-only club, with cushioned courts, a cafe and online booking for drop-ins.

Furama, Ariyana and the beach road

The Furama Pickleball Club opened in March 2025 with 14 courts, split between Furama Villas and the Ariyana centre at 107 Vo Nguyen Giap, laid out with advice from the people behind the World Pickleball Championships. It's open to the public as well as resort guests, so there are always people to play with. It's on the long beach road towards Hoi An, about 20 minutes from the airport.

Tuyen Son and the World Cup venues

Tuyen Son Sports Complex, by the river in Hai Chau, and Tien Son Sports Centre next to it hosted World Cup matches in 2026. Tuyen Son has public courts you can pay for at the gate. It's a good place to watch strong local players and, if you ask, to join them.

Resort courts

What it costs

Very little. Courts in Vietnam are rented per court, not per person. At around 140,000 to 200,000 VND an hour, that's less than US$2 each with four players. How to get a game as a visitor

Da Nang is the easiest city in Vietnam to get a game in, partly because so many foreigners live here. The way locals do it:

1. Find the group on Facebook. Start with ours, Pickleball in Vietnam. Locally, search "Pickleball Da Nang" or "Expats in Da Nang"; meetups are posted every week, many of them in English.
2. Join the club's Zalo group. Most clubs share a Zalo QR code. Zalo is the messaging app every Vietnamese person uses, and it's where sessions are organised.
3. Message the owner or manager. Ask whether there's a group at your time you can join. In Vietnamese slang that's xé vé, buying a single "ticket" for the session.
4. Or just turn up. At 6am or 6pm, stand by a busy court with a paddle and a smile, and you'll usually be waved into a game.

When to play

Da Nang plays twice a day. The early session runs from about 5:30 to 8am, before the heat, and the second starts around 5pm and goes on into the evening. Both are busy, and both are good for joining a group. Across the year, the weather is best from February to August. Where to stay, and Hoi An next door

Most players stay on the beach side, around My Khe and My An: the sea across the road, plenty of cafes, and most clubs a short Grab away. The airport is only 10 to 20 minutes from there.
